"My Grown Up Christmas List"
Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies
Well, I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child
But my heart still can dream
So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
and wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list
As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree
Well heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
(there'd be)
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up christmas list
This is my only life long wish
This is my grown up christmas list
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies
Well, I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child
But my heart still can dream
So here's my lifelong wish

it has always been a happy occasion.. the most wonderful time of the year they say.. people sharing cheers and laughter.. everyone's in the merry mood.. and i say it's just but right cause this is the day our Savior was born.. a celebration is in order..
however, as years went by and as the song have put it --the illusion called the innocence of youth was only a thing of the past.. your eyes are open to the reality that some not so good things happen by accident or not.. cruel people exist, wars happen, people get hurt physically or not, unfortunately problems occur Christmas or not.. where am i headed at, well, i'm not trying to bring down your mood for the holidays.. it's just that i had these realizations the past few days.. especially when a week before Christmas something tragic hit some parts of our country.. typhoon Sendong unfortunately left some of our kababayans homeless, sick and for some, even worst, it took away their lives.. and i feel their lost.. cause this is probably the saddest Christmas i've ever had.. well, i'm trying to cheer up cause i don't wanna be spreading blues this time of the year.. it's just that this will be the first Christmas without my baby sister with us (she passed away a few months ago) so i know how it feels like dealing with grief despite the joyous occasion.. sometimes i don't even wanna watch or even hear the daily news cause it's all about crimes and tragedies.. they just break my already broken heart and i don't wanna cause more damage cause deep inside me i know the little child is still there clinging to the hope this season brings..
so i just wanna share this song which reminds me that way beyond the material things love and peace are all we need..
may the world be healed..
spread the love not just this Holiday Season but all-year-round!
may the good Lord have a place in everyone's heart so that kindness will reign over animosity..
wishing you all a hopeful Christmas and a blessed new year!
