my grown-up christmas list

"My Grown Up Christmas List"

Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
and wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree

Well heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
(there'd be)

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up christmas list
This is my only life long wish
This is my grown up christmas list

it has always been a happy occasion.. the most wonderful time of the year they say.. people sharing cheers and laughter.. everyone's in the merry mood.. and i say it's just but right cause this is the day our Savior was born.. a celebration is in order..

however, as years went by and as the song have put it --the illusion called the innocence of youth was only a thing of the past.. your eyes are open to the reality that some not so good things happen by accident or not.. cruel people exist, wars happen, people get hurt physically or not, unfortunately problems occur Christmas or not.. where am i headed at, well, i'm not trying to bring down your mood for the holidays.. it's just that i had these realizations the past few days.. especially when a week before Christmas something tragic hit some parts of our country.. typhoon Sendong unfortunately left some of our kababayans homeless, sick and for some, even worst, it took away their lives.. and i feel their lost.. cause this is probably the saddest Christmas i've ever had.. well, i'm trying to cheer up cause i don't wanna be spreading blues this time of the year.. it's just that this will be the first Christmas without my baby sister with us (she passed away a few months ago) so i know how it feels like dealing with grief despite the joyous occasion.. sometimes i don't even wanna watch or even hear the daily news cause it's all about crimes and tragedies.. they just break my already broken heart and i don't wanna cause more damage cause deep inside me i know the little child is still there clinging to the hope this season brings..

so i just wanna share this song which reminds me that way beyond the material things love and peace are all we need..

may the world be healed..

spread the love not just this Holiday Season but all-year-round!

may the good Lord have a place in everyone's heart so that kindness will reign over animosity..

wishing you all a hopeful Christmas and a blessed new year!

tree hill tuesday: so how old do you have to be before your love is real?

mr james' speech during nathan and haley's first wedding reception

"and for those who say they're too young, let me just say -- hell, you can drive at 16, go to war at 18, you can drink at 21, and retire at 65. so how old do you have to be before your love is real?" -mr james (haley's dad)

this is one of my favorite quotes from the show.. it's classic! haley's parents are just the coolest ever! in fact, their too good to be true.. the kind that can only be seen on tv.. or maybe i just haven't met one yet.. i'll get back to you when i do one day.. ;) i wish my parents were that cool.. haha!

i'm guilty of being 'judgmental' when it comes to young love.. not that i don't approve of it.. but i see it as something that will never last, something that's just good for the moment because what the hell do these kids know about love?! and yet i proclaim to the world that i'm a HUGE NALEY FAN! a little contradictory isn't it? oh well, maybe they just got really lucky! besides they're fictional! haha.. or maybe that's why i love them, cause they proved me wrong and when they did it gave me hope that true love do exist and it has nothing to do with age! after hearing jimmy james' speech i view things differently.. well, most often than not, i'd probably be right.. but now i don't know how to explain it, but let's just say i give these young love a much better chance than i used to view it before.. i mean, i don't see it as something unreal now as i used to see it before.. i remember when i was in highschool and in love.. i do believe what i felt was real.. maybe not all of us got as lucky as nathan and haley did, but that doesn't mean the love that we felt when we were 'kids' was not true..

who would've thought that always and forever would work out for these two foolish couple who fell inlove and got married in highschool? well, because of this show i believed that true love has nothing to do with age.. yeah, you have to be mature and responsible enough to handle the relationship and make it work but that doesn't mean you have to be old.. maybe the naley story doesn't happen in real life.. yeah i get that it's too ideal.. but you can't blame me if i dream of having my own always & forever someday..

my opinion: no one could dictate whether you're too young or too old to be inlove! so young or old.. don't be afraid to fall in love.. 'cause it's a wonderful feeling.. it's scary especially when you've been hurt before or if it's the first time you're trusting someone with your heart.. but i say give love a chance.. how would you have always and forever if you won't take the risk and fall in the magical-sometimes crazy & stupid-addicting feeling called love?

so.. how old do you have to be before your love is real? hmm.. i'd say there's no definite answer to this! as long as you feel that your love is real.. no one could tell you otherwise..
